When most people think of disposable paper bags, they either think of small bags for lunch bags or paper grocery bags. Since these bags are usually thrown away quickly, there may be times when you need a paper bag and don't have one. If you don't have a bag, you can learn how to make a disposable paper bag at home.

A few simple steps to make disposable paper bags
Step 1: Gather paper and supplies
You can use any type of paper to make disposable paper bags. However, when choosing a paper type, you should consider the purpose of the bag. For example, you might want to use kraft paper or wrapping paper to make a sturdy bag to hold heavy items. You can even use multiple sheets of tissue paper if you want to make a small gift bag for something really light and delicate. Newspaper or colored printing paper can be used to make decorative paper bags. The key idea is to use materials that match the visual appeal, and choose a paper that is strong enough to hold whatever will be transported in the bag.
In addition to paper, you will also need durable paper glue. Avoid glue sticks or liquid glue used for standard crafts. Buy any other decorations you want to put on the paper bag.
Step 2: Cut and fold the paper
If the pieces of paper are not the desired scale change, use scissors to cut them to the right size. Lay the paper in landscape orientation on a flat surface. Front view, the longest edge of the paper should be from left to right. The shorter sides should run up and down. Carefully fold the bottom edge of the paper up 2 inches. To ensure a straight line, fold each side up at the same time without crumpling the paper. This will make the lines smoother and more even. Crease the paper when it is folded correctly. Unfold that part without creases again, and remember that this part will be the bottom of the bag. Using that section as a visual guide point for the bottom, fold the remaining sides into four even sections. You can do this with a ruler and make a small tick mark with a pencil on each even-numbered part. When the bottom is folded into place, this will create a bag shape with all sides meeting at the bottom.
Step 3: Glue the paper bag
The last step is to stick the paper bag. It is important to glue the short sides evenly to avoid a wrinkled look. Glue them first for best results and let the adhesive seams of the paper bag dry before gluing the bottom. When it is time to glue the bottom, fold the sides facing each other inward. Apply glue to the bottom of these sides, then carefully fold the remaining sides inward so that the bottom lines up evenly. Place one hand inside the bag and one on the bottom to firmly press and seal the bottom plywood. After all the glue has dried, you can decorate the bag to your liking if desired.
